For a spring, applied force on the spring, F = kx
Force required for increasing the spring extension to 3x
F1 = k*3x = 3kx = 3F
Work done to increase the extension,
W = ½ k[(3x)^2 – x^2] = ½ k (8x^2) = ½*1.2*8*x^2
= 4.8x^2 J
